Authoritative scientific researches have shown that the saving between the display of a black and a white page on a CRT monitor (cathodic ray tube) is of 10 watts for a 15", of 22 watts for a 17" and of 52 watts for a 21". For the LCD screens no substantial difference has been noticed, while for other technologies such as plasma, LED and OLED a reduced energy saving is anyway confirmed.
